A couple months back I purchased a 2003 Suzuka Blue, almost exactly 50k miles, bone stock down to the Potenza SO-2s and Honda battery. OEM Lip, Strakes, wing, cd changer and sock, seat back organizer, dust cover, titanium knob, blah blah blah...
Love the car, have always wanted one. Ive had a large array of Integras, Civics, del Sols, TSXs, RSX, etc... Finally decided to take the leap and grab a nice S2000. Couldn't be happier with it!
I plan on owning this for a long time so Im sure Ill be on here from time to time for marketplace and tech info.
Hello and welcome! Great looking AP1. I personally am not a huge fan of "modding." I tend to keep my cars very OEM or OEM+. I did want to say, if you have the original Potenza's like you mentioned, that should be the first thing you change/upgrade.
They're not original, just a replacement set of the OEM tire's. But they're definitely an out dated tire.
my thought was coilovers, wheels/tire's and maybe intake and test pipe. Torque damper, brake pads, stainless lines. Minor stuff.
I just don't want to change the cars driving characteristics too much. Honda did a fantastic job. It's not like improving an economy car with a good chassis like an EG Civic.
Sounds like a good plan. I agree in that I don't like to mess with these cars too much. They are already really good and don't want to make them drive much differently. Ap1's really look good and benefit from wider 17" wheels and tires. I think they actually look better that way too. Other than that not much else appeals to me for cosmetic mods on them.

For reference, here's my old AP1 w/ AP2V2 wheels. All stock suspension. 255 rear tires.
My feeling is that most mods you mention (except ap2 wheels and tires) are unnecessary for street driving and, if anything, they have a negative impact on value. But, that is just me.
