lookin at a S2k!
Ok so i have made arrangemts to go look at a 2000 S2k
First off: i am kinda new to driving a stick, but i have driven one before, any tips on drive a stick will be helpful, and i dont wanna look like a goof
Second: What should i look for to make sure its a good car?
Third: i have heard that the place that is selling it sells cars that have been in accidents and fixed or had insurance claims on them. if i get a carfax report or take the vin# to my insurance company would it tell me if the car has ever been in a accident?

1 - just give it enough revs (2000 at least) and let out the clutch slow, feather both the clutch and gas....
2 - try and run a compression test, if you can take the car to a shop and have them run an alignment on it, see if the body is straight and true.
3 - try carfax? I have carfax for another week so if you give me the VIN # I can run it for you

1. Have a friend teach you.
2. Look at the TSBs, ask plenty of questions.
3. Insurance co will not tell you anything, you need to run a carfax on it. Go to www.carfax.com

If the car has been in a accident and was not reported, it will not show up on carfax. Just take your time looking at the car. Look at the panel alingment most gaps between panels will be even all the way around. Look at the color of the car at different angles to make sure you dont see different colors, tones or shades, and possibly a bad blending job, also look at the paint closley. Honda paints ther cars well out of the factory so there should be no waves, fisheyes, or orange peel, It should look real smoot. Also all the panels, doors, trunk lid, hood, bumper covers should have a sticker on them from the factory with the vin.
As far as the stick, it will come to you over time. It is a bit touchy, not a car that likes low revs. It is best to feather the gas in this car and not the clutch. (IMO)
Also don't be afaraid to take the car some place and have a mechanic, or body shop take a look at it. Better to be saf than sorry
Good luck.
