Basically CarFax s***s!! Check the VIN's with an insurance agent for insurance claims on the car. You'll get more accurate info. CarFax is good for telling the number of owners a car's had.

Yea I gotta admit .. carfax is soooo inaccurate... a looong time ago I had a celica that I as planning on selling.. just for shits and giggles I decided to do a carfax on it... it came out clean as a whistle.. but the problem with it coming out so clean was that I knew that the car had been about 6 accidents with insurance claimed on all of them. (2 of the accidents were my fault.. i'm asian.. what did u expect? lol.. jk) so yea.. carfax didn't even have any of the acidents listed.. so I would have to say carfax is rather inaccurate.

 

I checked out a car on CarFax. It showed two owners and no accidents. When I checked the VIN with an insurance agent, he found the car had two claims for well over $10,000 EACH!!!

Not nice.
