Default Looking to buy this tomorrow(Sketchy, help)

I found a great deal on this S2K 3 hours away, I want to go pick it up, but the miles last reported on the carfax are roughly 51,000. The dealership claims is only has 39k.
Does carfax screw up sometimes? Can someone with a subscription run an autocheck for me please?

Just call the dealership and have them confirm. They may have recorded it wrong.

The part that bugs me is the pictures of the ODO shows the 39k, but the last carfax record is from 2011 and thats when the 51k was recorded.

Also I love your picture.

Hahaha thanks.

If that is the case then I would confront them tomorrow and ask them about it. I know it is a car drive. I made three 4hr round trip drives just to look at one s2000 when I bought mine. The last drive home with the car made it all worth it though.

This is a tough one.

I don't think the dealer would have set the mileage clock down because, plainly, it is just one car on their shopping lot and they wouldn't risk doing something like this, which clearly is illegal.

Also, I don't think Carfax would have made a mistake reporting the mileage, it might happen but it is pretty rare...could it be that someone bought the car at 51,000, clocked the mileage down to 39,000, and then sold it to the dealer?
