Default looking to buya s2000

hi guys im new to japanese cars, i have been into german vw's before. im from the uk and im looking to purchase a v reg s2000, its black with read leather and from what i have read and searched so far is that its a 2 litre engine producing 240bhp, rear wheel drive with limited slip differential. it has a soft top hood with plastic window. 6 speed gear box etc.

before i look at the car can you guys tell me the common faults or common areas or parts for problems are. the seller has an after market exhaust on it and a decat pipe and he says the CEL comes on now and again to say the emmisions are out etc, but he apparently took it to honda and the told him the CEL is onyl due to the catalytic convertor not being in place.

it has after market bodykit on it which im not too sure on so im trying to source stock bumpers for it and i want to repaint the wheels to either silver or gun metal grey. he has the standard exhaust with catalytic convertor that he will provide.

so basically fill me in on what goes wrong with this model and any other specifications it may have that i dont know about. (i believe you call the first s2000 the AP1 or k1??) also how do i tell if its an import without hpi checking it

here is a pic of it. DONT FORGET IM POTENTIALLY GETTING IT, I HAVENT GOT IT YET.

Not an expert... but the lights have also been changed.

Nice looking car, but I'm not a fan of black wheels.

The colour of the indicators... not sure if they call them the same in the states.... they might have just changed the orange to silver or something... nothing serious.

What year is it? I believe the 1st one was from 2000-2003 which is AP1

2004 to current is AP2....

Maybe the AP2 has clear indicators.... my AP1 has orange.

Maybe mines different :| Didn't buy it new.

Notice how the side markers on this one are orange, and on the one above they are white.

Also, looking at the red one, I'm assuming its AP1 because of the wheels.

Yeah...strange how in different countries they have different terms, the UK uses repeaters, in SA they are indicators - go figure. Most the road users in SA don't know how to use them, or what they are for....so I guess it makes no difference here
