I have driven an E36, loved the thing, it was a rare 4 door and blue one, all it has is an exhaust and suspension. needless to say I am jealous of my friend. I cant yet make a comparison because I haven't driven an S2000 yet, i was going to yesterday but it started snowing pretty bad so I just went to look at it and sit in it.

 

This one had intake,exhaust,suspension work and racing seats that was the big turn off for my mom she hated them.I have driven my friends s2k and loved it i only drove it from his neighborhood to mine but i loved it and always use to drive in it with him it's a very fun car.
