Wow, I the smg gear box. Best option ever for those cars. Sucks that it went bad, but i'm sure it was sick while it lasted. f1 tranny basically. Enjoy your S
LOL, not even close to a F1 transmission but ok. I had a 97 M3 sedan 5 spd a few cars back and didn't really have too many problems with it besides old bushings/rubber parts needing to be replaced due to age. It would be tough to move from an E46 M3 to a S2000 but the reliability is a major difference.

After some searching I feel like the S2000 has performance parts more readily available to it than the E46 M3 and not to mention with price tags that are well below any M3 performance part.

Regardless, I'm in love with my S2000 and don't really feel that the transition was a bad idea.

I know thats right... supercharger and turbocharger kits that are as much as an S2000... Theres some horsepower freaks stage 3 kit or something of the like for 39,000$ ... you could buy another m3 for that lol.

For me, a stock S2k is more fun than a stock e46 M3 and stock e39 M5 (i have had both). S2k is slower no doubt, but for some reason, the 9K rpm redline for me and the way the car feels is just so much more direct. Its not as plush as the Bimmers but for me, I don't need the coddling, i want to be connected to the car.

It probably has something to do with the 2800lb car vs. 3400 for an M3 and 4000 for the M5.

That's exactly what I mean. The Stage 4 (I think that's what they're on now) is like 40,000 for the entire kit. I mean that literally is like 2 or 3 S2000's!

I'm not bashing them, I mean their product is great as far as I have seen, but I'm not in that league to be playing with that type of money.

I had a E36 M3 before the S...god i had so many problems with it...it was a great car but i had to get rid of it...
I have a 100k warranty on mine, but since i started working at a Honda dealer couple month ago, i can slowly mod the car...and i can get it fixed if anything does happen.

good luck with it
