That sucks. Well, there's all the info that you need on the boards. You can do a search for any topic and find numerous results. The things that drew me to the S was the purpose-built nature of it. Stripped down, 6 spd manual, great handling, harsh suspension, noisy, no options, etc. Some people will complain that the radio sucks, it's not loud enough, the suspension is too harsh, noisy cabin. These are things that I love about the car actually. I would test drive one and decide for yourself. Personally, I was looking for something just a little more comfortable than a bike (sold my Yamaha Roadstar for the S). I think the S is just that, a LITTLE more comfortable than a bike, built for concentrated driving and nothing else.

From my experiences with insurance quotes, it really depends on which insurance company you are going with. It also comes down to the year of s2000 you are going to buy. AP1's will probably be a bit more expensive to insure due to lack of traction control, and AP2's with traction control I would imagine would be a bit cheaper. Again, it depends on which insurance company you go with. But generally speaking, the s2000 is more expensive. However, you are going to save a bit on gas/maintenance if you get the s2000.

S2000s are worse. Probably the highest rate out of any car you'd be considering. Idiots crash them a lot, and even bigger idiots break into them even more.

^^^ I beg to differ... I got my 01 S2k after a drunk hit me totaling my 03 RSX Type S... when I insured the S I stayed with the same company and coverage but lowered my deductible from 1k to 500 and I am still paying $10 less a month... would have been even cheaper if I kept the higher deductible.

It is actually cheaper to insure my 01 s2k than it is to insure my 00 Prelude SH Go figure. It's like someone else already said, there are some many variables when figuring out your insurance that it'll probably be easier to just call you insurance company and ask how much it would be. On another note, I was in your same position before I bought my s2k. It was either the s2k or the 350z and the s2k won. I would say it was because the s2k feels like a purpose built racing machine where the 350z feels more like a sporty car that is fun to drive. But it will all come down to personal preference, test drive both and it should make your decision easier
