Default Mind if we join you?

I started looking a couple of weeks ago for something fun to drive for two. Narrowed it down to the Miata and the S2k. Test drove both this past Saturday and actually made an offer on a MY08 Miata. They wouldn't deal so we walked next door to the Honda joint. Sitting there was a brand new MY06 S2k.
Seems as though for some reason the car had been on the lot for the past year with no takers. The had it at a good discount over an 07, so we took it home.

I'm glad I didn't get the Miata.

Put 400 mi on it the last two days driving some of the Bay Area twisties, This car is fun. So if you don't mind I'd like to stick around for awhile.

The car had about 300mi on it so I am assuming it saw a few test drives. Hopefully it wasn't thrashed too much.

And I was hoping someone with a hard top could answer for me if the Honda hard top is any quieter at highway speeds. I like the looks. Couldn't find that in the faq.

Welcome and congrats on the new purchase. A hard top does reduce road noise and wind noise a bit. The engine noise does not seem to be affected as much but is a little more quiet as well. The A/C seems to keep the interior more cool on those hot days. I love the way a hard top changes the appearance of the car. It's easy to install and only takes seconds to remove when you want to go top down.

I said easy to install..... meaning as in the first installation. One has to be somewhat mechanical and be able to follow directions but you don't have to have a Honda Tech do it. After the initial installation it only takes seconds to remove. You unlatch the front just like a soft top. Then there is one rear latch on each side. Those are pulled forward and the top is able to be Lifted to remove top from car (44 lbs). Total process 30 seconds or less. Subsequent installs are quick and easy, 30 seconds max. It is a two person operation not because of the weight but just to manage the top without scratching anything. My wife is a five footer and 100 lbs dripping wet. She helps me remove and install my top with no problem.
