Default My first 3 weeks :)

Bought a 1999 silverstone grey s2000 with red leather seats 3 weeks ago.

My first car- a few worried friends were convinced they'd be visiting me in hospital by now.

I'm a little bit older though (28) so took it a bit steady (OK apart from that initial excitement on the back road, of feeeeck me does this fly!!!!).

I love the car. I feel like its making me learn driving the hard way. Still being quiet easy and learning and respecting the power. Although the odd time, I have to admit I've let fly and felt the back end come out and had to bring it back in!

Can't get over how many people check the car out, and I smile when I come out the supermarket and walk to the S2000.

Only issue I have come across is the juddering in low gears when the car overheats....getting used to it slowly.

I honestly cannot see myself changing or wanting another car for a long long time.

Going to give it a year before playing about and hopefully making it even quicker. For now I'm spending an hour each evening reading posts right back to 2001 to learn more and more!

Congrats on the car purchase!

I don't get the overheating thing though. Care to explain a little more?

There's lots of threads on it.

Basically, happened 3-4 times in first gear.....car jumps violently (like when you see a learner struggling). Happened today on a roundabout in second.

Seems when I am stuck in stop start traffic.

Dipping the clutch stops it, but because the jumping is so violent, it can be a little bit nervy- or if you are as I was the first time driving through a supermarket car park, you look a bit of a wally

Another new owner here. I agree that the trans is sometimes very difficult to start without studdering or slipping the clutch too much in first.

However, I too am enjoying the thrill of my first sports car.
