thanks for the warm welcome guys. went to go take the tow hitch off and noticed the previous owner had it welded onto the rear support frame AND drilled 4 holes through the trunk to secure the hitch.....im real worried about rust now, going to hacksaw the hitch off, sand, and spray some paint on there. lmk if im going the wrong direction with this.

Seal the holes in the trunk

hitch is off now. just sprayed some primer around the 4 holes and where I hacksawed it off...hopefully that'll suffice.

just got all my fluids in from honda and ricks2k too, gonna get on that this coming weekend. hoping to get it rdy for ht meet on the 1st

there are some metal treatments to use too, if there is ANY surface rust use Ospho(ill check the spelling) and it will neutralize the rust before painting. It needs to soak in and then dry really good before sanding and painting over
