My Hunt for an S2000...
Hey there S2ki community. I've been Lurking on this site for quite a while now and I've been on the hunt for an S2000 for close to 6 months now. I promised myself once I graduated I would save up for an S2k and I have! I have close to 15,000 cash right now but can't seem to find a clean/lower miles S2k (I'm from Chicago burbs). I guess I'm just venting because now that I have the money, all the S2k deals are disappearing! It's getting really old...i'm almost obsessed with finding one; my routine is every morning and night I check craigslist, cars.com and autotrader.com to see if theres been any new listings, or the same s2k's that haven't sold in a month or 2. O well, I'll have my day soon. I suppose i'll have to deal with my 35mpg CRX right now as my daily.
In case anyone cared my username "XtbateU" (spelled out is Extubate U) deals with my job as a Respiratory Therapist and that's what i'm planning on getting as my license plate for the S2k. My daily driver CRX's plate is "Ntbate U" (spelled out is intubate you) haha. O well
::Goes back to lurking til I acquire a S2k::
Wish me luck!

Hey man i wish you luck!
Deals are out there, it is just how far you are willing to go to get that deal. I've been humoring myself looking for an NSX lately in the $25K under range. That is a car one will be taking time looking for, esp. the right kind and not the snap ring failure ones...
In any case though, it will make for one hell of a journey and one hell of a memory driving home with it.
GL man!

I know how it is man, I went through the same thing. I had automated searches running at all the online sites, checked others daily, and it took 6-8 months. I came close a couple times to saying "screw it" and purchasing a car I knew wasn't up to my standard but in the very end I am glad I didn't. Right after I got my car I took it into a shop to get my fluids changed out and another S2K was there, also a new owner, also rocking a sweet find, getting his compression test and valve adjustment.
