I honestly regret selling the car to you now. You are full of it, half of the things your complaining about never even existed until you took the car and did god knows what with it. You knew about the valve cover oil leak, and I even took $100 off the price even though I gave you a good deal and the leak could be fixed for less than $50, that was done with before any money was handed over. We also inspected the engine very throughly when we met up, and none of us detected any fuel leaking (sight or smell) so how would I tell you about that if none of us even knew? I daily drove the car until about a month before I sold it to you and never had any issues. The vacuum line thing was just because I recently took the intake off and must have switched the 2 vacuum lines around when putting the airbox, I would have swapped them if I would have gotten the CEL for it, but I didn't. Then as for the master cylinder, i've always kept the fluid full and checked it often and didn't see any leaks. I also drove it down to you, and you test drove the car before purchasing. I just take offense that you keep bitching at me saying "I knew about these problems and it's bad business that I didn't tell you about it" when I never even encountered these problems your talking about for the 3 years i've owned the car. Then you say the "the master cylinder has never been replaced".. well why would I replace parts that aren't broken and I never had a problem with? That's just stupid. Are you going to wait another couple weeks after beating the hell out of and putting thousands of miles on it and tell me the clutch went out and it's my fault too?
I've been texting you ever since I sold you the car and have been as nice as possible, and have been 100% honest with you. If you don't want to believe me then I honestly don't care anymore. I'm just tired of it already.
- valve cover gasket, easy fix, and you say you told him about it, even if you didn't, that's something not too hard to notice during inspection. Kind of off-topic, but I've replaced valve cover gaskets plenty of times and have never used Honda-bond. I didn't even know it was expected to do that. The bigger problem sounds like the grommets missing, which are cheap. When you have them, it pushes the valve cover down against the seal and it seals up without Honda-bond.
- Faulty o-rings? If they were faulty you would have sprayed fuel all over and probably started a fire already. I've had a damaged o-ring before and it was very obvious, very quickly, that fuel was leaking. I doubt they were faulty when you purchased it, and if they were then you failed at inspecting the vehicle. Fuel is easy to smell.
- Clutch problem? If it drove fine up until yesterday, I highly doubt the previous owner knew about it. You can't really "sense" that it's going bad. It either does the job or it doesn't.
Sorry, but it sounds like regular maintenance stuff to me that the previous owner couldn't have known about beforehand, with the exception of the leak, which he claims was mentioned. From the pictures it looks like it was taken care of. Sucks this all happened in quick succession, but I highly doubt it was known or intentional...none of those problems are exactly difficult or expensive.

Problems don't just appear, not like this. It might be bad timing. That's what I told you via text, and I'm telling you on here. Especially the way I've been driving. I haven't even redlined that car, haven't floored it, haven't even taken it past 6000-6500rpm. There's no point in town. I've been driving like a person who doesn't want to get into trouble, i.e., not like a jackass. Especially because I had to drive it all the way back here, mostly on cruise. That sort of thing doesn't just happen, not from the way I just roll around town.If you want to point fingers at anybody beating the hell out of a car, it would be the guy who in 80k+ miles had nitrous and mods in the past. Seems more and more that you just wanted to get out from under the car. I doubt that's the case, but it sure seems that way. I've not said anything on here that I haven't told you via text, I've kept you updated the entire way, and you've been more than helpful. I didn't name you in this thread, and I would have preferred it that way.
Reread back through what I typed, I'm not actually bitching at you. Well much.

Yes, faulty, or rather cracked. The rubber was old, and needed to be replaced. So it got replaced. He didn't know about it, I didn't know about it, I fixed it. Whatever. If anything, I messed that up with taking the fuel rail off. I texted him about it. Oh well, that was an easy fix for a slightly older car.
It started to get a lower engagement point when I was at the Honda dealership yesterday. Sure, it's probably just wear but it's a bit odd that it's happening within a week of me purchasing the car. That's what I told him, that's what I'm telling you. Car seems to be fine otherwise, but these things are just something that I wish both he and I knew about beforehand. We've been more than civil via text, and up until now on here.
So yeah, they are a bit silly. The recent succession of all of it is probably what's irritating me more than anything. I bear no ill will to the guy, him and his father are good people from what I've encountered. So don't let my griping change the opinion of anybody here.
Well, I can understand your griping, that is a lot to happen at once, but I didn't want to see someone on here have their reputation tarnished when none of it seemed like something they could have known about beforehand.
So, now that it's all cleared up, welcome!

Thank you. As I said, I bear the guy no ill will.

To be fair to both you and the seller, injector o-rings and slave/master cylinder -- nobody would have checked those things. Shit wears out.
What are your plans?

Not really much of anything. I've got a Magnaflow exhaust waiting, and I'm going to get an AUT cooling plate and call it good. Coming from a 400+hp Civic, I got the racing out of my system years ago. I just wanted something that would make a good daily driver and have always wanted an S2000. Maybe I'll buy a hardtop one day for it.
Shit does wear out, I just didn't expect the succession of things like this, I told the seller the same. But with all of my cars, I've been pretty anal about things, wear/tear, certain mileage for checking things, etc. So it happens.
