Hi everyone im new to the forum and im looking to pick up a s2k this week, i live in CT and i already looked at 2003 s2000 that had a 3rd gear grind after vtec, i got the guy to go under 10 grand and it has 89000 miles on it. What should i do? How much would it roughly cost to fix the 3rd gear issue? Please help i need a s2000 in my life lol

I don't know, but I would imagine it'd cost at least 1g. I dunno what a used transmission goes for.

 

i figured if i was ganna have a syncro fixed i might as well rebuild the whole tranny no? i just dont want to pay 2gs down the road

Well if the tranny isn't totally f'ed then anything under 10,000 is a good price IMO assuming the car is in good shape.
Having a bad gear or a synchro problem might suggest the car was previously boosted or abused. I'd look into it a little more
