Default Need some advice on this s2k

Hey S2ki,

I was looking to get back into an s2k, and found one which was clean. Its an 03 with 45k miles. The seller is an older guy, late 30s or so. I drove the car and it drove like it was new. The only issue is that the vin tags are missing from the driver side fender, and also the door jamb sticker is missing. Theres actually no stickers on the drivers door jamb. All the clips were there for the front fenderliner, the rear rubber stripping is there for the quarter panel. These are all things that some body shops forget to put back on correctly.

This makes me wonder if the quarter panel was replaced. The rear bumper was definitely resprayed because the valence was color matched with the bumper. Autocheck came up clean. He said he knew the original owner and hes going to try to find out for me.

I talked the price down to 12.5, which is a decent price for an 03 with that mileage. He looks like a legit person as well. I dont want to miss out on a good deal because im paranoid. I also didnt see any sanding marks as far as bondo.

The car looked clean, paint matched, no dings, no rips in the top.

What should i do s2ki? stay away?

-Cliff

Does the car look good to you? Is it registered and insured through your state?

You're getting the car you want for the price you want...don't pass it up cause you're suspicious. Are you entering the car into professional shows or something? I don't know...to me these things aren't deciding factors.

If it's what you want then buy it, if not then pass on the deal. There's plenty of s2000's for sale right now, your bound to find something better for the same price. You could always take it to the dealer for an inspection before you make the purchase so they can give it a once over.

Just got an update.

The car was repainted in 04 because when the owner took it in for service at honda, they scraped up the side of the car, and they repainted it.

That sorta explains the new paint but no sand marks.
