I'm no expert, but cars in general, and particularly the S2000. Look at the oil. If it's low and/or looks black I'd be concerned.

My car burns about 1 QT every 3K miles. I don't think burning a little oil is bad, but if you check the dip stick and it's a QT down, then you have to think the car may have been low on oil at some time.

Well I recently bought one used, and I'd recommend getting it check out by somoene. I got Honda to inspect the car from me and all dealerships in my area quoted $87.

Granted my inspection turned out to suck as I found cosmetic issues that show me some body work was done to the car, but it did take me 1500 miles in 2 days with no problem (right aftere I bought it no less)!

Make sure that the lines of the car line up. If it doesn't then there could have been some extensive body work done on it. Check the tires. If they do not have S02s on them make sure that they are 245 instead of 225. Check the oil, brake fluid (brake fluid should be light). Check the wear on the tires (Make sure that there is even wear). Check the vin numbers on the doors, trunk, hood to make sure that they match. Those are the only things that I can think of at the moment. Good Luck.

Oh and if you have any doubts, I agree with Jsmply and take it to someone creditable to look at it.
