Default New 2006 S2000 owner

Hello fellow S2KI members. I just picked up my 2006 S2K last month. I fell in love with the S2000 the first time I saw one. I always wanted one and the day finally came. I previously owned a 350z but it never truly turned my crank like the S2000 does. The previous owner babied the car and purchased it brand new in 2006. It has just over 20,000kms currently. I love this car The previous being an older gentlemen toke car of it, except for a bit of paint damage on the front and rear bumpers and some small dents which have already been repaired the car is in mint condition. It was always garage parked, never saw winter and rarely saw rain a real gem for a Canadian car. I will continue to care for it in the same and better manor.

But thats just a quick intro and now I have some questions that I'm sure have been asked 1000's of times but I have looked in many places for some answers and have gotten so much conflicting answers and old data from old threads.

#1. I have been shopping around on the idea of some new wheels. I love the Enkie RFP1's and Work Emotion CR-KAI but from what I understand from the factory wheel offsets these wheels will rub even with the highest positive offsets available especially if the car is lowered. What offsets have members been running at stock ride height without fender work. I don't really want to have to modify the fenders, but with planning possible suspension work next spring it would be nice to know what works and doesn't with about a one inch drop and work involved, and I do like the factory rims I might just powder coat them bronze or black until I decide what the plans are for my S2K

#2. Exhaust, I have read many posts on every type of exhaust but the only one I haven't read much on in this forum is the skunk2 mega power exhaust. My friend has the 2012 Civic Si equivalent and it sounds amazing and adds good power. I'm just wondering why I don't see any info, is it not a good exhaust? The price is great and the craftsmanship and power gain is good, don't get me wrong I would love an amuse exhaust but can't really justify spending $2000+ on a street car not track car.

Any Info on the subjects would be greatly appreciated,I have quite the shopping list for this car and will start stockpiling parts for a winter build. I have found lots of great info on this forum but just needed some clarification on the offsets and exhaust. Thanks for your time.

Brandon

Welcome to the Forums! I previously owned a G35 . Have you looked into Berks Technology Exhaust? I have a 70mm single and a high flow cat and sounds great! I think I spend around $700 brand new shipped

Welcome! It sounds like you found a really clean car.

Just to pass down some valuable advice that was given to me when I bought my car: Drive the car for a while and find the cars limitations before doing too many mods. In stock for it performs incredibly well, and many aftermarket components may just degrade this.

Have fun

No I haven't looked into this exhaust. Going to research it now. Hopefully they have a dual exit. I know dual is not really needed on our cars but, I think it looks funny with one pipe with factory rear bumper. Thanks for the recommendation. Yeah G35, I looked at before the 350z but I couldn't find a clean enough one for my budget so I picked a clean local 350z but I love my S2K more

Yes I agree with you. I love the car but I can't leave it stock, its just against my nature lol. The car handles great, I find it has a little bit of front understeer and a bit twitchy in the rear so a little suspension work will help with that. I don't really want to do fender work but if I lower it it seems inevitable to do fender work with aftermarket rims or run -3 camber in rear and -2 in front to avoid rubbing and possible fender work.

Honda has built a great car but I want to make it a little bit better
