New AP1 Owner!
Hi all. I was referred to this forum by a friend, so here goes!
I currently drive a 380WHP WRX that is fairly heavily modded. I love the car, but because of the ever-rising insurance rates, I am beginning to think that it isn't right for me. For what I pay in insurance alone on my WRX, I could own and insure an S2000.
For the last few days, I have been heavily contemplating selling the WRX, and buying a friend's Suzuka Blue AP1 that he has been trying to sell. It is bone stock, and has just over 100K on the clock. It has a new top, and the 105K maintenance was recently done (early). I drove the car last night and was immediately impressed. For being 6 years older than my WRX, and having 70K more miles, it actually felt a LOT better. The clutch and shifter just felt much more solid. I was very impressed. Not that Subarus are bad cars, but the Honda just felt much more well-built and solid.
I am planning on talking with my insurance company and credit union to get the ball rolling on the S2000, and will worry about selling the WRX later because I don't want this opportunity to slip by.
I just wanted to introduce myself, and say that I hope to be a part of the community very soon. For anyone who cares, here are a couple pics of the WRX (insurance money pit)

Dude your WRX is awesome but I know you'll have fun with a S2000 as well. Check out our regional forum I guess you could technically be part of to regions.

Thanks guys. Just got off the phone with insurance, and S2K insurance isn't much less than on the WRX. I'm over 25 with a clean driving record, so I think it has something to do with where I live. Not such a big deal since I'm moving soon. I'm still planning on pushing it through, it just might take a little longer. More phone calls to make.

Yeah I'm just getting kinda tired of the hardships of owning a modified car. It seems that every time I drive it, I hear another mystery noise. I'm just getting tired of tracking down small reliability issues caused by non-OEM parts.
I feel like the s2k is so much better of a platform right off the factory floor. It is like the pinnacle of Honda engineering. I love that about it. I've had my "fun" with modifying cars, now I'm finding myself wanting something that is less work and headache, and more driving pleasure.
Don't get me wrong, I have a spot in my heart for Subarus, and probably always will. I love the mechanics of them, and they have a great community. I will probably find my way into a Forester with an STi swap to keep my modding needs in check.

Also, thanks for the compliments on the WRX. I sure love it, and have put a lot of time and money into it. She has been my pride and joy for 3 years, but it is getting to be time to move on.

and welcome....
