New to the forums... little friendly hello
Hey everyone... long time troller, new member here...
I'm an owner of an NHBP 06 Civic SI in the central Ohio region.
Ever since I saw my first s2k on the road, I knew it'd be the car I would end up getting one day when I had the money for it. However, due to my first job out of college paying barely enough to cover a Civic, that is what I ended up with. Finally the tables have turned and I can trade in the SI and get something a little less practical haha.
Here's a couple links to her, as it stands.

At any rate... I am in the market for a used s2000 at the moment, and shopping around heavily.
I'm leaning towards an ap2 for now. I've got a couple that I'm seriously looking at now, but I'm really unsure of which is a better deal. I figure maybe you guys will have some good advice?
2005 Berlina w/ 23k miles. 22,869 (carmax, + a 600$ transfer fee...)
2004 Berlina w/ 43k miles. 18,887 (local acura/honda, not certified though)
As you can see, I'm partial to the black... although I drove a blue 2003 last night to try out the ap1 for giggles.
Obviously the mileage between the two is most likely the cost difference. The lack of (even 10k miles) warranty kinda worries me a little bit, and the fact that its not certified even though the carfax checks out. However, the 4-5k price difference, and the fact I can probably talk them down another thousand or so since its not carmax and its winter makes me just want to jump on the 04. That, and I just plain dislike carmax, and the xfer fee blows. I'd like to do it this winter, though.... since it seems to be the best time for good prices.
I probably put too much thought into this process, but its a big step for me to finally realize my boy-dreams of owning an s2000.
Thanks in advance for any advice you all can offer up, and I look forward to meeting some of the locals here in the near future!

It's funny, I owned an AP1 for a year and constantly praised it over the AP2 simply because it revved higher. I had planned to pretty much make the car look like an AP2 eventually, but then I decided to sell it cause it's completey impractical in NJ. Anyway, I will one day own one again and going with an AP2 definitely is not a bad choice.
There's no question as to which car to go with...get the newer one with fewer miles. I bought my AP1 with 15,000 miles and even though these cars can last well over 100,000, it's always nice to look at the odometer and not see too many numbers
.
But at the end of the day no one can tell you what to buy, you have to make that decision for yourself. Btw, your Civic is pretty nice. I probably would have left it stock but the car looks great. Take care and good luck

Welcome to the boards. I too am in central Ohio, and am a longtime S2000 owner. I've gone different routes with cars; G35 coupe, SLK etc...but always come back to the S. If you have any questions, feel free to post in the Ohio forum - we get together frequently!
