Default NEW GUY

Hey guys im new here, my name is Blake, I dont have a s2k, yet, but I will be getting one soon, I have a 2003 VW GTI it has the 1.8T motor, its a fun car, but I want a sports car that is affordable. I am in the process of selling it, and directly after that I will be S2K hunting. I looking for a 2003 S2K because I want the 9k Redline, and that is the last year that they made them like that if in not mistaken. But basically I would like to hear from you guys, what do you like about the car, and what do you hate, dont be afraid to be technical, I will understand what you are talking about. Thankyou

Pretty open-ended question, you may get a broad range of answers, depending on what each owner's expectations are. I use my car as a weekend/evening 2nd car and it's great. Low operating costs, fun in the twisties, classic roadster styling, rich aftermarket offerings, not too much downside for me. However, for others, the complaints most often include lack of torque/straight-line speed, high insurance costs, poor quality standard stereo, dated design as compared to newer alternatives and lack of daily storage space. MY02/03 are great because they still have much of the rawness of the original design but benefit from some improvements (ie glass rear window, leather console). However, not much punch below 5,000 rpm, you can spend $$ chasing speed and only be moderately successful. Search around the site a bit and you'll see many of the common highs and lows for the AP1s. Good luck.

I think you should get a 04-05 more refined and a better daily driver.

Yeah but they are a little out of my price range, so its F20 or nothing, and a couple years down the road I deff would not mind putting a 2jz in there, now that would be cool. But im sure I will like the F20, mby not off the line, but once I gut up there in those high rpm's I knw I will fall in love.
