2003 s2k
Well here is the situation I am 19 yrs old I bought my 2003 tiburon a year ago and it is a great car but I hate front wheel drive I went to test drive a new rx-8 and loved it but it was brand new a 33,000 fully loaded and little out of my price range the payment on that was $520 per month plus what ever insurance is! So they had a pearl blue s2k and I test drove it and instantly fell in love, the rx-8 was fun however my one minute drive in the s2k is simply to hard to put into words. The S is fully loaded and has 23k on it they are asking $24,000 and are adding in the 2k from my car so I will actually be paying around $26,000 for the s2k. My Insurance now is $250 per month (how much should it go up if any?).They are telling me my car payment for 6 yrs will be $450.00 for the s2k. I currently pay $326.00 for my tiburon. The question is can I get a better deal or should I jump on this ? The $450 per month will be fine if my insurance doesn't go up but I think it will! I working on quotes! I could even handle $270.00 for insurance. Is this realistic ? I have a perfect record.Well s2k owners please give me so feedback I have to let them know tomorrow!
Thank you!
p.s. I cant stop thinking about that 5 min test drive!!!!!! All I can say is wow!!!

Hmm. The pleasure to own a car. Here's the problem and I see so many young kids wind up in this situation.
#1. You are 19. Getting tied into a SIX year car loan is insane. Your life is going to dramatically change over the next 6 years. You may move. You may lose or change jobs and have income shifts.
#2. You credit is still building which means the interest rates are going to be high at best. You didn't say but I'm going guess somewhere between 7.5 - 10%. Unless you have bad credit already but based on $450/month I would say you have decent credit.
#3. Do some math. $450 * 72 (6 years/month) is $32,400. That car that looks like such a good deal suddenly look a whole lot less attractive.
#4. Think carefully here. You alreay made one mistake buying the Tiburon and it cost you $2000.00+. It sounds like daddy ain't buying your car so it is up to you to make a wise choice.
#5. Yes a hot car is nice. It impresses your friends. You THINK it makes the girls wet (it don't, the money you spent does) and it makes you feel like a big man (side note: most S2000 owners experience a 15% shrinkage in penis size owing to the fact that they no longer have to compensate for driving a shi**y SUV)
So my recommendation? Coming from a 34 year old who made $229,000 (before taxes) and owns ONE car, My S2000, drives it all winter long and actually (shocking fact) washes it at the car wash?
Don't do it. Save your money. Buy a beater car (mine was a 1975 Caddy!) put a really awesome stereo in it and watch your friends accumulate the speeding tickets while you hang out with the babes and maybe do something awesome with your life.
The S will still be there when you're ready.
Warmest regards,

I don't undestand why people go to a dealership and just say what they could afford monthly and not look at total cost
