Default New guy, planning S2000 purchase looking for info!

Hey guys, my names Zach, and as of right now I don't own an S2000. However in the near future I do plan to add one to my garage!

So here's my story. I'm a motorhead, always have been, if it has an engine I probably love it LOL I'm big on modding, if it can be changed I probably will change it.

The reason i'm looking for an S2k is the fact that a few months ago I sold my fun little car, 2009 Cobalt SS, for a 2006 Trailblazer SS I was tired of not being able to get around in the snow. The balt just didn't cut it. Now don't get me wrong I LOVE the TBSS, great vehicle. However i'm really starting to miss the ability to go slam that third pedal around. So i'm here to do some research on the S2k before I make the purchase, my plan is to do a small turbo build, aiming for about 450 WHP, if that's possible, I don't know much about these guys that's why i'm here with you guys. My plan is to keep the trailblazer for the DD and have the S2k for my weekend ride. I'm also a stance fiend, so get ready for some coils and wheels as well

Onto my current toys, and my past one.

My old Cobalt SS, it was at 330 WHP and 360 WTQ, it was a fun little car.

My current vehicle, 2006 Trailblazer SS, no mods really besides some cosmetics. Also, I recently got hit and had the front bumper replaced, so no more front plate holder!(Sadly this is the only pic I have right now, haven't gotten a chance to go do a shoot with it yet.)

and my favortie toy. 2006 Triumph Daytona 675, it looks a little different now but it's in storage and the lighting sucks so no pics of the new mods yet.

That's my fiancee in the pics, it's always better to spice up an intro with good pics though!

Hope to learn alot on this site, i'm pretty active so i'll see you all around!

I've never been big on the whole "stance" trend, especially on a car like the S2000 where the stance thing ruins the rather decent suspension, but to each his own... I cringe every time my car scrapes, at stock height. My friend's factory lip was ripped off yesterday, with his car 0.5" lower than stock

450WHP is around the norm for a stock block setup.

Have you driven one yet?

I'm just a fan of the look, and with a decent set of coils you can raise it up and really tear the curves easily and then the suspension feels better then stock, on most cars anyway.

That sounds good then, how sturdy is the stock transmission and clutch?

I have not driven one yet.

If you're going for looks, go for it None of my damn business.

Clutch will more than likely need to be upgraded. Transmission should be fine if you don't beat it stupid. Honda knows how to build a manual transmission... Differential may be an issue, if you're the clutch-dropping type.
