Cool New to me 2004 Silverstone (update with photos)

I am loving my new silverstone and red/black interior 2004 S2K!!!!

So picked up a used 2004 and drove already over 120 miles today! 70 some of that were home from the sellers house. I wish it would stop raining so I could take the top down some.

I was close to ordering a new IS250 Lexus with manual but decided to keep the Mini and get another toy for a few years. Maybe they will come out with a manual transmission IS350 in a few years.

So the S2K is much different from the Mini. You sit much lower and it feels like you are going much faster at the same speeds in the S2k. Maybe since is louder with the soft top? I guess with the longer wheelbase in S2k and the non runflat tires the ride is a much welcomed softer ride than in the mini. The one thing I do miss is the navigation in the Mini. Its not the best system out there but it is better than nothing.

Honda needs to add nav and heated seats, and Ipod Input to the option list... other than that the S2K rocks! I guess it seems the sterio in the S2K sounds weak compared to the upgrade HK one in the Mini. I guess that is a $500 option. Might want to upgrade the sterio in S2K to one that can take ipod and some better sound output.

Well thanks for all the great info as I have been lurking until today when I finally picked her up!

Added some photos...

You are actually going faster in a S2K, just because it is a S2K!

Have fun -ing it and -ing it.

Nav is an option in the Japanese domestic market, but not here. Heated seats are a mod you could have done, if you're willing. A number of owners have done this. Ipod jack for your stereo is also a mod that a lot of owners have done. Check the electronics forum.

Welcome aboard!

Rain stopped today so went out with wife with top down in 40 degree weather!

It wasn't that bad with heat cranking on full blast and wearing warm coats and winter hats!

Also got off the old dealer sticker that was still on the bottom of the trunk. Heated it with a hairdryer and then had to use some acetone to get off all the sticky residue. Still probably need to wax the area where it was as I am sure that acetone stripped off any wax that was there.

Enjoy the car in the cold weather, but beware that your stock tires will not provide normal grip when the temp dips. Just be careful out there.

Welcome aboard!

We test drove a Cooper S w/the paddle shift automatic trans. I had a blast. It had the sport package w/performance tires and I detected no body roll whatsoever...I'd pick it in a minute as a daily driver.

Having had my S for four years, let me just say - you're gonna love it.

Yea - cooper s is a fun car too and slightly more practical than S2K with more room and extra seats in back. It is surprising how much room there is given the sort wheelbase and small size.

I had a great day today driving around with top down and I even got a light sunburn in February!

I just put the top back up after a week down with boot cover on since the car is in the garage. What is the best practice for storing the car? It looked like there were a few wrinkles just above the rear window. Does anyone else get these same wrinkles???

HokiPoki, it looks like you could use a shave... unless you plan on driving like an animal.

Enjoy your new toy.

Funny stuff!

When I look at that photo of the dog, I think she should be saying....
"OK - where should I park this thing?"
