Hello all. Just picked up my first S2k, and really looking forward to getting to drive it next weekend at Sebring. I instruct for Chin Motorsports, and SCCA, and because of that I get Free track time I have driven at Roebling Road, VIR, Road Atlanta, Daytona, and Sebring. I was supposed to be driving at Atlanta Motorsports Park this weekend, but the track was not finished in time, so it looks as though I will have to wait until our November event there. I am a car and motorcycle junkie, I have had more than I can count through the years and I have passed this obsession on to my son. I have 8 vehicles, and he has 3 lol. I have always liked the S2K, and a little known legend goes, that it might be the one and only car that I (alegedly) successfully managed to elude capture in, when someone wanted me to stop for them. So I have been tracking my LS1 FD, but now that it's painted, and I've rebuilt the motor twice, I've got too much invested in it thrash on track that much. I'll still do a couple of winter events each year when I just need some HP, but most track duties will fall on the S2K. I had a miata and have really enjoyed it, but when you are on tracks like Daytona, the straights can be a little boring when the car struggles to reach 120mph. A pro miata driver suggested the S2K, and offered to build me one, but I found a great deal that was too good to pass up and jumped on it. Its a 2001 Silverstone that has been gutted, and converted to track only. I havent had it on the scales yet, but the previous owner claims its under 2400lbs, I will scale it myself to see. Other than the weight reduction, its got a T1R exhaust, AEM CAI, Tein Flex Master Coilovers, Stock brakes with 3" cooling ducts, and a low mile AP2 transmission. CF Hard top, Hood, and interior pieces, Sparco seats, OMP wheel, and MB Battle wheels 7's and 8's. I threw a dealer tag on it and drove it to cars and cafe yesterday, and was impressed by the power. A buddy has an e36 with an alpina 3.0L motor, he walks another friends M3, and I pulled on him. I was astounded at how the weight reduction made the stock brakes feel like a 911's carbon ceramic option. Here are a few pictures:

Anyway i look forward to browsing the forums, trying to read up and learn what I can about this wonderful new automobile.
