Default New Member, in search of an s2k

My name is Brandon.

I have always owned Hondas (we have 5 currently), and always wanted an s2000. I currently drive an h22 powered accord, which isnt all that bad (low 15's, high 14's), and keeps up with average drivers in an s2k around an autocross course.

Of course, the time comes when we gotta move on, so here I am. I am currently searching out an 00-01 s2000 in my area. Actually going to test drive one tomorrow.

I am looking for either the silver or black, and black interior. Hopefully I will find one soon since I cant wait to have my own.

I am thinking about a hardtop, but I guess I'll focus on getting the car first right?

Im in SW Florida... 6 hours from the border.

The one I test drove, the steering felt a little weird from what I am used to. It somewhat tracked a bit, but the salesperson said it was normal for these cars how they are setup and how wide the wheelbase is and how low they are.

It doesnt pull to one side or anything, but if the road leans to one side, its.... just a different feeling. Is that fine?

Is the one in Mobile posted up anywhere or any deatils? Hopefully I will get this local one. Gonna go to the bank Mon or Tues to get the financing setup for a purchase.

Well, I want a silver one.

Or black or white.

Any of the other colors, I dont want unless it is a really really good deal.

So any word on the "heavy steering"?

It just feels a little different.

The person who was riding with me said it feels that way in these cars...

Felt a little different, so I was just trying to see if it was supposed to be like that. I am actually going to test drive it one more time after I get my loan all sorted out. If I like it and cant find any problems.. then I'll be an official member

I carfax'ed it, and its clean.

The only thing I dont like about it is an aftermarket shift knob that makes a buzzing sound. The s2k's just unscrew correct? So I can make sure that its the knob itself.

Hmm... That could be a problem. The S2000 has fairly light steering, aero. People bitch about it as being a bit numb, even. Personally, I think the steering is the best part of the car. IMO, if it doesn't feel right, don't buy the car.
