Default New MY02 owner!

Hello members of S2KI!
Since 6/23 I've been a proud owner of an '02 Suzuka Blue. I couldn't have been happier. This has been my dream car ever since Gran Turismo 3 came out. I can't really remember what happened that caused me to fall in love with this car. I was just browsing through the car shop and once I got to the S2000 I was like

Well it's been a pretty long wait for me, around 5 years. After getting the keys from the owner and getting in the car, I was speechless. My dream car finally became my reality car! Coming from a '94 Tercel that had really bad suspension I was already used to a stiff and bumpy ride. The S2K was by all means better even though I've heard countless times that it's stiff, probably not as good as my brother's '00 Tiburon but pretty close.

I'm interested in finding out if there are any members here who live in the Reno area. I see S2K's on the streets every now and then so hopefully ONE of them knows about this site.

A couple pics:

Gotta give a big thanks to my grandma. If she hadn't been there as my co-signer I would've never gotten this car. Mind you, all expenses to the car are being paid by me, I just didn't have a long enough credit history to get a $20000 loan on my own.

Nice ride - take care of her and she'll take care of you. You've got some aftermarket body pieces on there, anything under the hood?

Yeah I do like the pieces the previous owner put on there. The engine is completely stock. The first upgrade I wanted to do was to put some high voltage wires like Nology but I never knew the engine doesn't use spark plug wires, haha. This was my dream car for 5 years and I never knew about that?? I'm just glad I finally have one to drive for my own. I'll leave the engine alone for now.

Welcome, guardiase! Not sure if there's much of a Reno presence, but there's plenty in Vegas (https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showforum=116) Best wishes!

Thanks guys! Well it's been a little over a month now since I had the car. Tonight I happened to have met up with my friend who drives an '06 STi. We exchanged cars for a little bit and I have to say, I already noticed quite a bit of differences. His brake pedal had a lot more clearance than mine and didn't seem as strong. Clutch engaged almost immediately off the floor, while mine engaged around halfway. Steering wheel felt just like my '94 Tercel (not much feedback from the wheels), only with power steering.

But that thing pulls lol, gotta admit that was nice. Made my S2K feel like it had no umph at all after I drove his car. Well what do you expect from a car with turbo? All in all though I'm already too attached with my S2K. I love the sound of the engine, the precise handling, the 9k redline , and everything else that just makes the car what it is. Did I mention that this was my dream car?

One day I'll make her faster, just don't know when that will be.
