New owner Adelaide AU
Hi everyone!
I am a new s2k owner as of yesterday based in Adelaide Aust.
I now have a 00, silverstone, black interior, fairly stock, with approx 100k on the clock which will be my daily once i get some major and non-major issues fixed.
So far any bonding with it has consisted of scrubbing mud and something else(soup?) out of the carpets and relocating the splitters so i can move the seat far enough forward to reach the pedals fully.
Clutch, shocks, window seals (urgent given its winter), ?new softtop, are all looking to be on the cards to get it up to scratch with replacement of all fluids/decent service as the top priority as well as investigating anything else the mechanic wasn't able to check before we bought it. (Oh and get a stock shift knob as i hate the cf aftermarket replacement and probably replace the carpet... cigarette burns, butchered holes and filth)
Due to the short time frame with which I have jumped into the s2k world please feel free to share the obvious with me as my s2k knowledge is recently acquired and patchy. Any recommendations as to good s2k mechanics, parts suppliers, perishables etc which i can source from Adelaide would be very welcome as i am not quite ready to set up international addresses for parts shipping!
I have previously owned and loved ra28 celicas, xb ford (8), na miata, nb miata. Some of these may have had forced induction ☺ however so far I am just planning to bring the s2k up to a good stock equivalent standard for now... I would say i am moderately technical and generally do basic maintenance myself. I will post a photo of the s2k once i figure out how!
Pleased ta meetcha all!
