Default new owner getting to know my S2000

Hello all,

Quick intro;

Just bought a 2003 Sebring Silver with 16K on Monday. It now has 17+K. Bought in Denver and now on my way to home in BC.

Learning lots quickly. Good mix of mountain driving to flat desert running. Definetly need better tires. The OEMs are terrible in the rain. Love the power and sound. Handling is taking some time to get used to. Again maybe the tires.

The S2000 is a replacement for my 1980 TR8. Had it since new and now it's going to get a much deserved restoration.

Cheers

John

The mountain driving is great isnt it? I've only got a chance to do it once since I got mine 2 months ago.

Made it home last night. 2000 miles in 3 days of driving. Needed to get back for work so it was just a quick blast through.

Installed new tires in Portland and had the alignment redone. What a difference! The alignment was way out... no matter how well you check out a car there's always something.

Only other snag on the car is that little "snick" going from 2nd to 3rd. Reading the threads about this it seems to be common and can be helped by changing the tranny oil.

Looking to put a cold air intake on soon. Any better than the others?

Cheers to all. Keep the rubber side down.

Now you'll never know if it was the allignment or the tires.

Have fun

The alignment wore the tires front tires out early. But it was the aquaplaning that convinced me to upgrade on the tires anyhow.

Only that small patch of rubber holding you to the road and we get a lot of rain up here on the Pacific coast.

Anyhow, having a blast with the car. Wish I'd bought one sooner...... Might need to budget in a couple of speeding tickets per year though.

Working on putting DLRs in right now. Why didn't Honda make it a simple plug and play mod?

VTEC is addicting!
Cheers

Bought privately in Littleton.

And yes, I'm having fun. Only problem is I'm working today and my wife is out in it by herself. She'll have a perma-grin too.

From what ive read the tires dont wear evenly. The camber is pretty agressive, so watch the inside part of the tread as it wears faster than the outside edge of the tire.

And yes, the S02s are terrible in the rain. What did you replace them with? I've found most tire stores have a crappy selection and a crappy price. I always go thru Tirerack.
