New s2000 owner on the peninsula
Hi, I just picked up a 00 ap1 last Monday and I am looking forward to upgrading the car and making it a more capable street and track vehicle. Car is all stock at the moment with 66K miles and badly worn potenza re-11 tires. I have a full list of upgrades that tips the scale at well over 10k so its gonna be a slow upgrading process. I already love the car and the stock components, although I do have to say that the stock brakes cannot take very much punishment in the mountains.
Cheers guys,

Welcome :-)
I was in the same boat a few years ago...learn the car first and enjoy it as much as you can. Then make changes and updates steadily.
Replace the tires immediately. You will lose control or hydroplane esp with bad rear wheels. I also suggest you check the brakes. With good tires and stock brakes, I find I'm able to stop my s2k easily when needed even in the mountains and I'm almost at 400rwhp.
You will really enjoy the car when you find yourself not braking too much in the mountains and being able to maneuver the car more effortlessly. The stock brakes are pretty stout other than some fading during hard track conditions but I've never really had any issues yet.
