No Complaints, it's a great car. Don't launch, or even VTEC it for the break-in period (600miles), and after that keep launching to a minmum. If you do it regularly, you will probably burn the clutch first since you have a Clutch Delay Valve. This softens the engagement, and will allow clutch slippage during spirited driving. This can be modded. Also VSA in combination with DriveByWire will soften launches as well. So if you really want to launch, turn VSA off. But as a new S2k driver, I'd leave VSA on until you really have a good feel for the car, say 5000-10000 miles. After that only turn it off temporarilly.

Finally, have you found the Gas tank release and the Secrect Compartment yet?
I used to have a 2004 E46 M3 which got totaled by some asshole that hit me when i was going home from work.. So ive had much experience with rwd.. My M3 also had a cdv which was removed. Yes i was looking through the car trying to find a button for the gas tank, and i finally realized that its a little release thats on the side lol... And which secret compartment are you talking about? The one on the top of the middle console?

Also... I wanted to ask you guys... What mods would need to be done in order to hang or beat e46 m3's?

welcome to the s2k, i'm fairly new too.

the mods i just ordered, gears & a supercharger or no gears and a turbo kit with an aem ems & tuning. turbocharging can be reliable if it's tuned really well, otherwise it usually ends up a big headache if you don't do everything correct from the get go, i have first hand experience with this. the supercharger is a bolt on and has been proven to be reliable for the majority of users, depends how you use your car really.

What type of gearing and supercharger? Looks like a nice way to start off modding..

Oh btw.. i wanted to ask, what is the normal break in period for the s2k's?
And during the break in process, is it only spirited driving? Or can you smash on it once in a while..

gearing is purely up to you and what you use the car for. if you do a lot of cruising and highway miles you probably don't want such an aggressive gear. i am getting the 4.77's but primarily because i am not going to run much more boost than the stock pulley. the gearing will raise your rpms quite a bit, about 600 or so for the 4.77's i believe. i ordered the comptech with aftercooler. the vortech kit is nice but i like the finish on the comptech better, and that it runs less boost out of the box. you can do searches on "supercharger gears" and etc and find a lot of informative topics previously discussed.

p.s. you have the best color.. i wanted a white s2k but couldnt find a good deal on one.
heh.. thanks man... so whats the proper break in process? Spirited driving?

ok, but as far as N/A Mods, would we be able to beat or hang with the e46 m3's?
