Default New S2k Owner

Hi everyone,

I've always wanted a S2000 since they came out when I was in high school and finally had the chance to pull the trigger on one last weekend. A one-owner 2001 Silverstone car with 81,000 miles in amazing condition that has become my daily. Coming from being a long-time Porsche 944 Turbo owner I thought the S2000 couldn't be that much better, right? They're a little similar, but boy was I wrong. The Honda is just in another class, even with all it's quirks. Other Hondas I've owned over the years were a CR-Z and a K24 Si.

I do have to thank the forum for the amazing amount of pre-purchase info. I think I spent a full week reading everything to look out for and am thankful to everyone who put it together. I will say that no amount of reading will prepare you for loud clutch buzz, holy crap.

Congrats on your S2000, and welcome to s2ki

I have had pretty bad clutch buzz on my 01 as well since I purchased it a couple years ago. I think the only remedy is to replace the clutch/flywheel unfortunately, which I don't plan on doing until the clutch starts slipping. On the other hand, I have also become so used to it that it doesn't really bother me as much as it should

Once you do replace the clutch disc the buzz comes back in about 10k miles. May as well just get used to it.

Welcome to the forum.

I actually have to admit, I didn't mind the clutch buzz of any of early AP1s I test drove. I feel like it added to the rawness of the car. That might just be me though lol.
