I could be wrong, but didn't I read there was a recall or whatever for the gear popping out?

Hey Vboy, I dunno if you remember me but my username was BRZBandit on ephatch. I picked up an ap1 in April. We should meet up and cruise/take pics sometime! Kinda funny that we both have s2000s now. Good luck with the 2nd gear issue, I have seen several posts about that and I think a few people came up with a solution that didn't involve pulling the tranny.

Holy cow! Haha, what are the odds?! Haven't heard from you in forever man. We should definitely get together for a cruise or something. Haha, do you still have the EP?

Oh, and a little update, still loving this car! I've been able to reduce the amount of 2nd gear pop-out by being a bit more delicate with the clutch from 1st to 2nd. I've scheduled an appointment with a buddy of mine who works at a Honda dealership to do a few fluid changes. Changing the tranny fluid with 50/50 mix of Amsoil Synchromesh and Honda MTF, apparently this has solved the majority of 2nd gear pop-outs with this year and the 05s. I'll also be having him change out the brake fluid w/ Honda stuff and change the diff fluid with Mobil1 gear oil. Hopefully it'll be a nice refresher for the car.

Yeah the car is probably due for some near gear oil in the tranny. Mine pops out every once in a while (once every few months)

Ha ha yeah I thought the same thing when I saw that you picked one up. Crazy. I sold my EP a bit after I picked up my s2000 so now I only owe a like 800 bucks on the S. Do you have another car to daily drive or will it be your daily driver as well? I can't decide whether or not to pick up a cheap car for the winter.

Did changing tranny and diff fluid help your 2nd gear issue?

Nice man. I'm actually currently looking for a daily now. With winter coming up, I could definitely use a more practical car. Plus I can keep my S2k safe in the garage. And I haven't had the appointment with my buddy yet, it'll be done by this week though. Fingers crossed that it works!

Oh and here are a few pics I took today after cleaning the car. I think it was a appropriate form of celebration after yesterday's U vs. BYU game. Gotta remind fans what color dominated. Lol

Nice car man, what kind and size of wheels you got on it? They look neat. Reason I asked is becoz I just got 03 nfr and I wanna get some nice shoes for it.

Oh ok, Do you think 18s would be too big, any speed issue with them?

Those in the picture are 17s. 18s aren't "too big" depending on the sidewall width or suspension, just depends on your setup. You can buy a yellow box to compensate for different diameter.
