New Socal S2K owner
After 16 years of owning some form of a fun car, (79 Capri Turbo, DA Integra, DC GSR, WRX, Evo IX, ISF) it all came to an end back in August 2012.
Priorities had changed, and I traded my ISF in for a 2012 Tundra Rock Warrior. The plan was and still is to get a Phoenix camper on the Tundra and hit the road for a year.
But, the itch to have a fun car nagged me ever since. I looked at Miata's - too small for me. RX8 - too unique of an engine for me to work on. E36 M3 - fun but I'm not a german car fan.
So it lead me to the Honda S2000.
Gave myself a budget of 12k and started combing through the forums and craigslist for my new toy. It's amazing to see how poorly some of these were treated over the years. Maacco paint jobs. Tired engines. The list goes on. I came across a used MY2000 for 8500. 218k miles on it. 2 accidents in it's history. Obviously modded and been apart. Keyed in a few spots too. But the engine, with all it's miles, felt the strongest of all the other AP1's I drove. It was the most "honest" of all the S2K's I looked at - All of it's flaws out in the open. Plus it came with an AP2 exhaust and suspension. We agreed upon 8k.
I have a few small mods planned for it. Refreshing a few of the worn items too.
Should I have paid less? Maybe. Am I enjoying the purchase? Oh yea!

In fact, the day I test drove it was just 20 minutes after I drove an 03 with 92k miles.
It felt like the odometers should've been swapped.
