looking into buying a S2000 here pretty soon as soon as i sell my current car. just wondering what some of the differences are between the 00-03 models and which year would be my best bet. and has anyone had any major mechanical problems or junk like that. your input is greatly appreciated.

 

I think if you poke around the site a bit, you'll find your answers.

There are no "major" issues with any year S2000. Refinements were made between MY00 and MY04 which may or may not appeal to you. Spark plugs were changed late in the year in MY02, and 2-hole oil jet bolts changed to 4-hole in early MY02. As far as I remember, these are the only significant mechanical changes.

Things like glass rear window starting in MY02 might be a factor for you. Then again, the price on MY00-01 is hard to resist.
