Default Newbi saying hello and looking for advice

Hi all,

I bought my 1st S2K this evening and am rather pumped! It's a 00 Silverstone completely stock (except for the sound system). Interior is red/black and the mileage is 41,000 KMs. At any rate, the car was purchased this evening and I'm taking delivery on Saturday. Seller was great and obviously looked after the vehicle. Truthfully, I don't know too much about S2K's and I'm sure I will learn here. I've had lots of different sports cars in my time but I think I'll hang on to this one for quite a while.

As I'm rather new at this, I understand that there are some characteristics of the Ap1 and (00) that are different or perhaps problematic. Does anyone have any advice for the (00) model and these cars in general? I'd like to track this car from to time and would appreciate any advice, comments on simple things one can do to maximize the perf. etc.

P.S. Pics will be posted next week.

Thanks in advance guys!

There were some issues with AP1s having tail happy issues. If you've ever seen the comparison test on Best Motoring video of AP1 vs AP2, you'll see the difference noticeably. The rear diff. was also strengthened for the AP2. I'm sure if you're not going to force feed the engine, your diff. should be fine.(as long as you're not abusing the car) Besides that, I would make sure there are no worn areas on the soft top.(lot of nightmare stories of top tearing) There isn't anything you can't upgrade on the S(after-market or OEM), so any problems can be resolved...as long as you have $.
