So I jumped the pond from a german car (VW R32) to an '07 AP2 chicane silver or silver-stone(CPO)36k miles, I'm still trying to figure out what color it is...I've been into the VW's quiet a bit now went from MkIV GTI > MKV R32 and now Honda!

Anyways loving it, completely different type of car; I think the S2k is the true sports car.

I do however have a couple concerns.

I noticed while riding on the passenger side there is a slight metallic howling sound while accelerating (not very noticeable while in the driver seat) thoughts?

Also the CD player skips intermittently. At first I thought it was the stiffness of the car going over bumps. But it skips at a complete stop as well...
Surprisingly the stereo is much better than in the R.....Just missing the AUX input.

I'm pretty sure the CD and howling can be diagnosed at the dealership and warranted. How are Honda dealers?

VW dealers are notorious for being some of the worst!

Thoughts advise?

I come from vwvortex, but look forward to learning and enjoying the Honda S2k community.

Issues with the radio aren't real common but most agree that the stock head unit just plain stinks. Metallic howl is a bit of a mystery, don't know what that could be. Dealership network is hit and miss, best bet is to plug into your local forum (check out the regional forums elsewhere on these boards) and ask their opinion. Good luck.

Welcome...the first modification for the S2k should always be an aftermarket head unit. If you change nothing else, get a good head unit. Stock stereo is the weakspot of the S, but I don't think the designers intended for the driver to listen to the radio....listen to that exhaust!

Enjoy your new car...the R32 looks great too! That has a wicked exhaust note.

Great thanks for the heads-up guys, Yeah I'm looking into HU as we speak...
Let me clarify it's more like a ringing that starts around 2300-2500RPM

I'll check out the regional section..

Yeah the R's exhaust note is probably the only thing I'll miss...

Yes definitely a big change, but a good I love the raw nature of the S! I'm looking into mods; perhaps the suspension... Then i'll see where that takes me

There are just sooo many options compared to the Euro aftermarket!

Thanks for warm welcome hehe
