Default "The Offer i couldnt Refuse!"

[FONT=Arial]sooo my search was going great, till another member hooked me up with sum important info. also i got carfax and started looking up cars.
sooo mark emailed me and told me

"There are quite a few private sellers around the area. Its imparative that the car was maintained well. Even though its a Honda, these high revving engines are very finicky if over revved or the oil change interval was not obeyed strictly. Also the differentials are not fragile, but not good for an abused s2000. The clutches can be easily burned up if the previous owner drag raced the car. I would say that if you want a s2000, i'd just spring the few extra grand and get one in great condition. There are too many ratty ones out there that could require major repairs only a few months in. Search s2ki and read through all the FAQs"

so far ive had 2 on my mind
first option is a private seller bout 2 hours from me. hes got a gray n red (interior) its got 48k miles and his original asking price was bout $18k and he was throwing in 2 sets of tires, Eagle F1's and sum Dunlop Snow Tires (not the M3's i heard so much bout tho). i thot it was high and i was able to talk him down to $16,700
the first, my main option was owned by 3 ppl, surprisingly for having only 48k mileage. the first 2 barely drove it, and it was sold as a honda certified car. then the most recent and private seller says he loves the car. he bought it at bout 10k miles according to the carfax. there was a minor accident wth a deer, very minor damage reported to the front right. i should talk im down i guess. he's still my best option.

the other option is also on autotrader, Denny Dotson Automotive. its yellow and bout $15k with about 70k mileage with an offer to purchase an upgraded warranty, itll come with a 3month one...
and according to carfacx was tossed around like a frisbee in auctions and sold a bunch of times, so im guessing thats a bad choice to buy..

so i guess i have to check out the first guy's S and see wat shape its in. or try to talk him down to $13k or sumn. according to the car facts, he put the most mileage on it, only owning for 2 years, it must have been his daily driver.
any advice? Mark would prolly tell me to spend more, but im poor and i think im already pushin it just to get my dream car.
or ive anyones sellin in ohio, speak up.
thanx guys,
raj

Be real careful on these cold roads. Even though they appear dry being so cold your tires won't grip like in the summer. Being new to manual be careful, I've been driving manuals for almost 40 years and my S still surprises me.

Great buy,

Patience is the most important part of buying the right car.

I know you'll love it.

That is very true. Its very easy to get caught up wanting something and buy something out of impulse. Patience and logical shopping goes a LONG way.

Congrats and be careful on the car till you learn it, we don't want you wrecking it!

Stay smooooooth and stay out of VTEC unless DRY out in Winter. Don't change gears mid-turn and learn to rev-match on downshifts to minimize breaking traction.
