Post Ok, i did it!

Lately, I have been researching to get a new car. I currently had a 07' Chevy Trailblazer SS 2WD loaded, I had only had it for 6 months.. I absolutely loved the truck it was fast looked good, but the 6.0L V8 was a motha sucking gas hog LOL... Everyday driving (home to work and back) I would only average a cool 14.6 mpg and on long trips about 17-18 mpg barely... Which got to be very expensive on gas $62.00 a fill up sometimes twice a week I was throwing away money for just gas!

So I started looking around for fun to drive and cars that were good on gas...

I looked at a 03' and 04' Mitsubishi Evo I have always liked them but wwhen I went to test drive them I hated driving it, yea they were fast don't get me wrong just something I could get tired of quickly and the interior sucked!

I also looked at a 04' Subi STI I really liked it just that everyone has one including their grandmother and it still wasn't what I wanted....

I was about to buy either a 08' Civic loaded w/ navi and leather or a new 08' Accord coupe ( I work at a Honda dealership so I would get a discount) Both are good on gas but a little on the boring side for me....

Then one day I had an S2k (ap2) in for a basic oil change. I just really liked it.. Then we had two 08's S2k's come in off of the truck and I was sitting in them and I liked it even more...

For the past few weeks I have been searching on this forum for info. etc... And searching on Autotrader and Cars.com and I can across this 01' S2k for $19,995 and it had only 15k mi! Seemed like a great deal! So this past Saturday drove 2 hrs to a BMW dealership that had it for sale so I could look at it and test drive it. I got there and what a immaculate car it was beautiful I could not believe it was almost 7 yrs old!!! I test drove it and I fell in love with it immediately... My girlfriend did not want me to get it saying it was too small etc.. She came up with every excuse in the book to why I couldn't have the car... i still got the car regardless... lol...

So to sum it up, today after work I drove back up there to go get my new S2k. I traded my TBSS in on it and I ended buying the car for $18k. I think I got a good deal...

First impressions, driving my 2hr trip back home I could not stop smiling it was a blast (especially with the top down in the 60 degree night) ! I wasn't uncomfortable at all which I was worried about since I am 6' tall... The car is so well balanced a perfect mix of power... everyone told me that it would be soooo slow etc.. I definitely do not think it is slow, hell its not a 12 sec car but it has the perfect amount of power, just enough! I was always a GM man until I started to work at Honda and now I think I am swayed now owning one! lol... I am definitely gonna buy the leather console from ricks2k since the carpet center console is a little different! But I can't wait for tomorrow for some fun top down driving!!

I will try to post pics tmw!

Sorry for the long post I thought I would just share my excitement!!!
