Default Please convince me I have made a good purchase!

Hi everyone!

Somehow, I ended up test driving a new S2000 roadster on Monday here in the UK, and ended up buying it! I pick it up on Saturday. Naturally, my boyfriend is absolutely green with envy!

Here's the deal: I've never had a sports car before, let alone driven one. I'm a big car fan and have always had a decent car that looked good - but never anything like this. Also, this is the most expensive car purchase I have ever made. So I really need someone to reassure me that this is a good car to have.

In particular, are there any problems I should be aware of? And what accessories do people recommend I get?

So far, the reviews I've read have been positive, although I am concerned about rear wheel drive in wet weather conditions.

Thanks so much everyone!
Josie

A chick with an S2K...

PRICELESS

Well you wont need any convincing once people keep staring at your car or sometimes the random comments from people saying the car is nice is all worth it! Not to mention the one time some guy pulled me over to talk to me about how "beautiful" the car is

Also dont worry about the rear wheel drive thing~ youll get used to it.

Do you usually drive hard in wet and windy conditions? (No would be the usual answer but some do enjoy slipping out the back once in a while )

If you dont do anything stupid and respect the cars capabilities in the wet then the car will respect you and not go all crazy on you

I always hear people that havent driven the car that much and say oh the back end slips out too much. Well those are the kind of people that would usually hit the vtec at 5800rpm in wet conditions and curse the car and their luck that the back slipped out and they nearly crashed or crashed.

Relax, be vigilent in wet weather and enjoy the ride!

Well, I'm that someone This is a VERY good car to have, trouble free, smile on the face guaranteed!

Problems? It's a Honda, so the question is not relevant Accessories? Do you need accessories? Maybe better speakers/stereo, rest is good as it comes.

You've got a MY06, so you've got the guardian angel calles VSA. This is Honda's version of ESP, so you do not have to worry too much about rear wheel drive and wet conditions. Just don't play Senna in the wet just to be on the safe side!

Well, I can say about this car is WOW! Absolutely amazing! The weather here in the UK was great over the weekend, so I had the top down the entire time and did a lot of driving with my other half - he is quite envious, but I made sure to let him do some of the driving!

There was a lot more space in the trunk than I thought there would be. And I've just purchased a used custom fit cover from ebay since I will have to keep the car outside.

Can I just ask - does anyone have any problems with taking care of the vinyl top? Is there anything I should do to preserve it?

Also, does anyone know who manufactures the stock cd player? I was quite surprised by the sound quality, which wasn't half bad at all.

I really wish I could post a couple of pictures on here, but it won't let me But anyway, what a wonderful car, and SO much cheaper than an SLK or Boxster!
