Pondering the Purchase of a S2000
Hello folks,
I really love the minimalistic nature of the s2000 as well as the visual design; however, there are 2 concerns I have:
1). 240hp isn't much power on the surface
2). I definitely would want to lower the car a bit. I'm concerned lowering the car might make it handle worse than stock since this car apparently has one of the best stock tuned suspensions out there. I would definitely buy some quality coilovers though. Just not sure which ones to buy.
Any advice appreciated, thanks.

im thinking H&R's in the future i suggest driving the car stock for a while its kindof nice not to have to creep up on the speed bumps and stuff i may end up not lowering at all dunno yet just gonna mod the car slowly.
240 to me is enough for the streets no doubt if you want more save for a supercharger...

The power the s2000 makes is more than enough for the street. Eventually you may get used to the power and want more, but that is how it is with any vehicle.
As for coilovers, there's tons of options. You need to set a budget and then find the best brand and option in that set budget.

Although there are many engine mods out there, its easy to spend alot of $ chasing very little gains in HP. Best bet is save your $ and go forced induction, assuming you feel the need to bump up the power. As for lowering, three ways to go: springs, spring/strut combo and full coilovers. Spring are the most popular, as its cheap and gets the desired effect. But it will change the suspension geometry (which may or may not effect handling). Spring/strut is in the middle, gets the desired effect without dramatically changing things. Full coilover is the most expensive but the only way to actually improve handling. However, it will harshen the ride. Check out the suspension forums, lots of opinions mixed with moderate doses of fact over there. Good luck.
