Default Possible to buy a S2K...hrmmm

Well I am new to this forum obviously, so hellow. I do indulge myself in cars a lot, as most of you do. I just had a few question about say a 2000-2001 SK2.

1) We all know Vtec is very reliable...how well should a used one run? Say about 34-40k miles on it? Say it was decently used...not completely beaten...

2) A comfy ride for long distances?

3) Yes yes, its RWD...how does it fair in rain? Snow?

4) How much $, and how much gains will say I/H/E be?

Thanks!!!

I don't own a s2k at the moment, but I'll try to help you out with all the info I've absorbed just snooping around..

1) I don't know what you mean by the reliability of VTEC, so I'm going to assume you mean how reliable the car is. The s2k should be as reliable as any other Honda, good for mileages past 200k+ if properly maintained.

2) As far as I've read, no.

3) The s2k does not fare well in the rain, even worse in the snow.

4) Too much for too little gain. Maybe 20whp for a total of 3-4k$.

1) It should be fine. Thing is, you dont know how beaten it really is. The S was made to be driven hard. My rule of thumb, the better the MPG the less its been beaten.

2) Majority of people would say no but there are a few that have taken the S on long trips. For me, it's just not big enough for long trips.

3) The tail of earlier models aren't so friendly from what I've heard. Just take it easy in the rain and snow. Better yet, take the car to an empty parking lot and practice throwing the tail out and readjusting it. 06+ models have VSA.

4) I/H/E won't give you that much gains. A lot of people have taken that route and ended up wishing they went FI instead. More power.
