Potential buyer Question, does the lack of torq
Hello, I'm considering the purchase of an s2. My number one concern is the lack of torque and low end. I currently have a 944 turbo s with around 260rwhp and about the same in torque. before that, i had a 928 euro with similar rwhp and more torque. when i went from the v-8 of the 928 to the turbo, i really missed the low end punch of the v-8.
so i'm wondering if any of you also drive v-8's or other cars with alot more torque and power down low and feal you miss that. i'm not trying to insult the car or anything. i understand the engine is made to rev. Thanks.

I had a 944T and you do miss the feeling of torque, but its not like you're dissapointed. The S is just a different beast - you don't get a torque push, but you still get going quick fast. Think of the S as a very smooth accelerater. Plus, after experiencing the S2000's quick steering, light clutch and shift action, you'll swear the Porsche is a tank with how much slower and heavier everything feels.
I like torque and the feeling of getting slammed back and also the front of the car lifting up as you accelerate.
But with the s2000 you get the beautiful sound of a high revving well made engine. So no i don't miss torque i simply enjoy both.
I enjoy watching Formula 1 and Drag Racing, each one is awesome.
Seeing a car jump off the line is just as exciting as watching a F1 car carve a turn.
