quick question on buying used
I am lookin at a used 2004 with a little under 50k miles. A small dent in the trunk and 1 minor accident. Its the color combo I want and I think its a good deal. What would you all pay for a similar car that was in a minor accident but has been fixed very well. Thanks james
How "minor" was the accident? Superficial body damage or structural damage? Accidents do show up on car faxes and sometimes will provide details about the accident. Having an accident on record will forever hurt the resale/trade-in value of the car. Also, I think 50K miles is too high; its out of warranty. Wait for another one to come along, you'll find another one that you'll like. If you must have it, I would agree with FISH22 for about $22k for the car, but to me thats out the door pricing with a 5 day inspection period.
Just to add some perspective. There are a few 2006's (new or close) available from dealers under the $28k range on ebay (rare but they are there). I picked up a 2006 with 3,600 miles for less then 26K. (USD).
For a few thousand over the 19K, I think you can pick up something that's clean with less mileage...
Good Luck.
PS. anyone have concerns about how cheap these vehicles are selling at?

It's interesting to note that in Canada the S is much more expensive. Several people have bought an S (new and used) in the US and imported here.

As for the original poster, it's ultimately up to you. You basically have to trust what the current owner says or find another car.

maybe even an aftermarket warranty. Great Lakes is a good company. They usually pay, most others will beat you to death over a nickel.
