Thumbs up Rev limiter

On my 2004 S2000 the rev limiter kicks in at 8,000 as apposed to the earlier models at 9,000 rpm. It feels like there's plenty more power when the limiter kicks in. Is there any way to increase the red line or HP with an after market chip or brain?

All except the MY06+ engine computers are not reprogrammable.

Some folks have used an MY00-MY03 engine computer on an MY04+ engine (2.2L). You might have shorter engine life, but I'm not sure anyone can say.

Maybe, or at least change it. The ECU can be "flashed" with new programming. But I wouldn't look for Honda to release anything like what you're suggesting.

The MY06 is the first S2000 ECU which can be reflashed with new programming.

I'm not suggesting that anyone does a reprogramming to raise the redline. Generally people muck with the timing programming to introduce new camshafts or just do more fine-grained tuning (say for 93/94 gas)...
