Default S Specs

Hi, I just picked up an 02 Silverstone S. I was wondering what a typical 1/4 time would be. The only performance mod is an Injen CAI. Thanks!

depends on how good of a driver you are, and how hard you launch the car

CAI probably won't do much to make a substantial difference. Other variables will be much more important.

To throw out a guess, I would imagine most people will fit around 14.3 +/- 0.3second range on a normal day with a normal car.

You should pay $15 bucks and go to the drag strip to find out

Oh yes ... Congrats on your purchase! Enjoy!

The Silverstone is by far the fastest color on 1/4 mile.

Good choice.

WRONG!!!!!!!! Sebring's faster. It's not a lot faster, but definitely a tad faster. The color requires less volume of color chemicals to mix -- hence, lighter. Also, keep in mind that Sebring is a lighter color, and thus doesn't absorb heat as much as a darker color would.

Thoeretically, GPW is supposed to be the faster color. However, GPW doesn't reflect the sun as well as silver, so it actually ends up absorbing some of that heat, causing the engine compartment to heat up more than a silver S. Also, Honda figured it was cheap to pain a car Sebring, due to less paint needed, they ended up making the Sebrngs a little more powerful because they have more $$ left given that all colors have the same sticker price.

With all that ... Sebring MUST be the fastest

hehe j/k ... don't listen to my and have some fun with your car

The magazines do post close to or just over 14s, but owners who launch their cars over and over again get faster times - there was some discussion of quarter mile times in the how to launch your S threads. Most draggers swap out their diffs and gears though too.
