Default s2 fan

first time ive registered on these forums! ive been a s2/roadster fan since they first came out a few years ago when i was in high school. i have been driving a 99 miata since i graduated and got into a accident last week. ive had some rough times in the miata, and think its time for a change. im debating whether i should take on the 3-5g repair or sell for (hopefully) at least 6gs. once i sell the car, i wont be buying a s2 anytime soon because i will still be short. i just had 2 simple questions:

1) why are blue s2's so rare?
2) any specific year i should be looking for or avoiding? my budget allows for 15gs more or less

thanks!

Even if you're short, you can still drive an S2000.

Which blue, Suzuka or Laguna?

I'd look at 02s since they have glass rear windows and a lot of tsb work was fixed by then.

the laguna is rare because it just came out for the 06

tsb = technical service bulletin (think of it as a recall)

with your budget, an 02-03 would be good. only purchase it if you can afford it. in other words, dont be spending like 60% of your income just on the car. it's a great car but thats not a smart route to take.
