no but seriously, YES it costs more to maintain than a civic of the same year model. Well and in reality that's only because you cant rotate the tires, and the tires cost more and wear out more quickly.
You'll probably want to perform alignments and fluid (motor, transmission and differential) changes more frequently than you're used to with other cars as well so figure that in also.

Tires and wax,

Maybe a clutch could be pricey? I'm guessing, but look into the cost and life expentancy of those.
Clutch lasted me 75,000 miles on stock engine. Retail cost for OEM clutch kit cost me $470, not including install.

Is that a joke?

Anyways, rattling TCT costs almost nothing to repair. All you have to do is sandblast the little worm gear.
absolutely not joking. I am a service Advisor @ Honda and that is the way Honda recommends to fix the issue 100%. Sure there is the sandblasting method but that will not solve any wear to the plastic guides of the timing chain caused by the loose tct.

No offense but **** Honda's 'recommended' way of fixing the TCT. Every year S2000 has the TCT issue so if we were really able to trust Honda's recommendation, it'd be because they recall that bad-boy and fix it for free like they SHOULD.

Nobody in their right mind would/should pay that kind of money to fix Honda's design flaw that they should be fixing for us.

Never had an expensive problem with my Honda that has 2 owners (original and myself). I bought it with 28,xxx on it, and now has 39,xxx. I change the fluids, thats it. And I pay $240 a month because I took out a loan for 10k for the car to help buy the car. Doesn't seem expensive to me.

My brother has a 04 SI with bolt ons. We rag the shit out of it and TRY to blow up the engine. At 122,xxx miles, it still has stock clutch, stock internals, stock everything. We red line it all the time and power shift it. That thing just won't give in.

I'd be down to write in a complaint. Maybe we should make it a forum-wide thing.
