Wow.. Honda have problems?

I bought my 01 in 2007 with 58K miles. 3 and a half years later the most i have had to do is:
regular oil and oil filter changes, full syn mobile 10w-30 extended performance between 2500 and 5K miles
intake filter change every 5 months
diff. fluid 2 times
gear fluid 2 times
annual alignment
2 sets all around tires
rotors and pads just couple weeks ago
clutch master cylinder replacement a couple months ago.

I DD my car and it just hit 112K miles today.

Fk what that salesman said, learn from my mistake. I bought mine no down payment at 19 with no co-signer and that warranty for 1500.. I drove home with a $22K loan on my shoulders at a 12% rate.. I had an issue of going for things i want without patience. Busted my ass for this car though.
I highly suggest doing homework, really get out there and find what you want from the S. I'd say your doing great asking on an S2000 forum in terms of picking one up and what to look for etc. Value has significantly dropped since then, so there are steals to be had.

Get a better deal then i did and stick it to them for me

Honestly maintaing it is a tad more expensive because we can't rotate tires but thats really it.

Thats one thing that made me get this over an evo/370z/ wrx....This car is so damn simple and easy to maintain.

The salesman is sorta right, its probably the most expensive HONDA to maintain (vs civic, accord, etc), but far less expensive to maintain than competitive cars in its class. I spend way more money on my 350z.

The warranty is there for your secure feeling...I'd skip it, but its ok to buy it.

A HondaCare extended warranty will not cover wear and tear items such as clutch, brakes or rattles. However, its a good safety net for electronics and engine components that might fail, if it's going to fail. Anyways it a HONDA

Aww come on blobianco, we're the welcoming comittee. That phrase works well if OP was asking about Porsche/Ferrari/Lambo maintenance. We don't know what the OP considers expensive.

Cut the OP some slack.

The S2000 is not even close to one of the most expensive cars to maintain, especially if you do the routine stuff yourself. I have no problems with extended warranties if they make you feel better, however, they are mostly pure profit for those that sell them, and they often find ways to deny coverage if something goes wrong. Do the research yourself and determine whether you need one or not. I never, ever rely on anything a car salesman, dealer tells me.

I feel that Hondas are the most reliable cars. There will always be exceptions, however so far my S2000 has been great. However I bought it used with 80,000 miles from a private seller.

I got an extended warranty for my '08 CR. It's probably the way dealers make more money but I got it as an additional insurance. I still have a lot of payments so I would like my CR to be under warranty. If the extended warranty isn't going to cost you that much more then I would get it.(piece of mind)
Yes I used to sling cars for a little while and that was one way to get a Bonus. Sell Extended War. for used veh. You get a nice chunk from the War Company Just FYI
