hey guys,

im sort of in the same shoes as LABRIT and dont have much credit. last time i checked my credit which was just over 700 but i have no history of buying a car nor a credit card. just student loans and what not .

is there any way possible that i can lease a car with such credit?

i read a guy from this forum who doesnt have much credit leased a 06 for 4000 drive off and 379/mo for 3 yrs, which i would take the deal if it was offered to me using just my credit only.

what would be the best course for me to take to get an s2000?

btw im 24, out of college in my first job and my insurance is 1000/6mo.

Yup i did, sorry forgot to add to this post. I am paying 503 a month for 54 months.

It's not the best deal, but not bad by any means considering my circumstances. Although i put down the DP, my dad is paying the monthly and insurance and doesn't mind the numbers, as they are similar to those i had in london with a miata!

I can get a silver MY 2003 w/ 9k miles at a local Lexus dealership for $21,800. That price is firm - I don't think I can negotiate any lower. (That is down from there starting price). How good of a deal is this? Average? Good? Excellent? Once in a lifetime steal?

I don't know how much if any factory warranty remains. Its a 1 owner car that was traded for a Lexus IS. Only add is a Sony 10 disk (the wired controller is stuck between the radio and the shifter. It has factory tires, which while they don't need immediate replacement, I imagine will need to be replaced within a few months.

Overall, the car is in good to excellent condition.

How good of a deal is this? Should I jump on it, or will I be able to find the same thing or better in another month? (I should note that I am concerned that come mid to end of February demand and prices for s2000's will go up because the weather will be much better).

What do you guys think?

First of all, remember AP1>AP2

The price seems ok, avg trade is around $18,665 and average retail is around $25,100 according to KBB... keep in mind you may be able to get more $$ out of them. Run a carfax as well!

just an FYI, i bought private party, 2003 with 8k miles on it for 24k.

my car was in perfect condition with perfect paint. it looks like you got a good deal on your hands right now. depending on the condition of the paint and interior, i would think that you are getting a good deal.

hope this helps...

Yeah, good deal. Also, Lexus dealers won't even try to sell a car they think may have problems - they'll just ship it off to the auctions if they don't like it.
