s2000 questions
ok, i'm about to go in the dealer(not honda) and check out an used s2000.
its a MY04 AP2, under 20k for mileage, and they are asking 22k for it.
Assuming its from a dealer(not honda), and it has relatively low mileages, it should be mechanically sound right?
The truth is i dont know much about cars and i was wondering what are things that i need to look out for before i make my purcahse.
First of all, the dealer provides inspection reports, what are the things that i need to look for and what are the healthy figures for those tests? (compression ratios...etc)
Second of all, what should i look out for when i'm test driving it?
Third of all, what are some negotiating tactics that i can use to bring the prices down?
Just a note,
there were an accident reported on the car (dont know the details) when i checked the car out on carfax, however, the title remained clean, does this affect its price and my purchase decision?
Thanks alot
PRAY FOR ME , im going in to check it out tomorrow, and if prices are right.....buy it
but i doubt it because its at a dealer.

go test drive several of them so you know what is "right" sounding and what is "wrong" sounding.
tell them you won't go any higher then X amount.if they want to sell the car then they'll sell it to you.but you have to be reasonable cause they do need to make some money.

make sure it's a CPO (certified preowned).
know how much you are willing to pay. do your research and find out how much the car is really worth. go test drive your friend's s2k and see how it compares to the one at the dealer.
don't settle for a higher price because you want the car. the sales person is trying to get rid of it too.
best of all, have someone that knows their s2k go with you OR find a hook up at a dealership so you can deal with someone that wont cheat you out.
